    Project Scope : Helideck Friction Test Location : Port Fourchon, Louisiana, USA

    ORYX Aviation Services LLC successfully conducted a Helideck Friction Test for OTTO CANDIES LLC, a USA-based client, to verify the skid resistance of the HARVEY BLUE SEA helideck surface. The testing was performed in accordance with CAP 437 – Standards for Offshore Helicopter Landing Areas and applicable U.S. regulations, including HSAC RP 163 – Helideck Safety Guidance.

    The friction assessment confirmed that the helideck met all required safety criteria, providing assurance of reliable skid resistance for helicopter operations. This project reinforced compliance with aviation safety standards and supported the continued safe and efficient operation of helicopter operations onboard the vessel.

    ORYX Aviation Services LLC was engaged by OTTO CANDIES LLC to perform a comprehensive Helideck Gap Analysis of the HARVEY BLUE SEA, including its helideck and supporting infrastructure.

    The assessment focused on evaluating the helideck layout, safety systems, and operational procedures to identify potential gaps and areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with internationally recognized aviation standards and best practices.

    The assessment was conducted in accordance with the requirements and guidance outlined in CAP 437 – Standards for Offshore Helicopter Landing Areas and HSAC RP 163 – Helideck Safety and Assessment Guidance. The gap analysis evaluated the helideck layout, safety equipment, operational procedures, and supporting infrastructure to identify areas of non-compliance or potential improvement.

    Through this project, ORYX Aviation provided detailed technical recommendations and advisory support to enhance the vessel’s helideck safety, operational compliance, and overall readiness for offshore helicopter operations, ensuring alignment with internationally recognized aviation standards.
